The HCP's Perspective: the experiences & expectations of an HCP speaking at multiple Pharma company meetings is a free, online, open-audience roundtable event. Aimed primarily at senior leaders and compliance leads in Pharma, the event will take an in-depth look at the challenges most HCPs face when engaging with Pharma.
The event will be hosted by PAYCE founder and CEO, David Bloomfield, and we are delighted to include an address by Dr Yvonne Summers BSc, MB ChB, PhD, FRCP, who has wide experience of using PAYCE, and will be sharing her invaluable insights.
As a Consultant Medical Oncologist and Clinical Director at The Christie Hospital NHS Trust, Manchester (one of Europe’s leading cancer centres), Dr Summers’ interest in clinical trials focused on drug development of targeted agents and immunotherapy for patients with lung cancer means she engages with multiple pharma companies.
The Christie treats over 60,000 patients a year and is an international leader in research, running one of the largest early clinical trial units in Europe with over 300 trials every year – and Dr Summers is chief investigator and principal investigator on a portfolio of lung cancer clinical trials, as well as providing clinical expert advice at lung cancer NICE technology appraisals. She is also a member of the EORTC lung group and the lung cancer clinical expert group (CEG) and was previously a member and subgroup chair of the NCRI lung clinical studies group (CSG).
Our roundtable discussion will focus on the challenges of engagement between pharmaceutical companies and HCPs.

About Dr Yvonne Summers
Dr Yvonne Summers is a Consultant Medical Oncologist and Clinical Director at The Christie Hospital NHS Trust, Manchester, one of Europe’s leading cancer centres. Treating over 60,000 patients a year, The Christie is an international leader in research, and runs one of the largest early clinical trial units in Europe with over 300 trials every year. Dr Summers’ interests are in clinical trials focusing on drug development of targeted agents and immunotherapy for patients with lung cancer, and she is chief investigator and principal investigator on a portfolio of lung cancer clinical trials.
Dr Summers is a member of the EORTC lung group and the lung cancer clinical expert group (CEG), and a previous member and subgroup chair of the NCRI lung clinical studies group (CSG). She also provides clinical expert advice at lung cancer NICE technology appraisals.
About David Bloomfield
David Bloomfield is CEO and Founder of PAYCE Portal, a flexible payment and disclosure platform transforming collaborations between healthcare professionals/organisations and pharmaceutical companies. Formerly Head of Finance at AstraZeneca UK, David has over 16 years’ experience working within the pharmaceutical industry in senior sales and finance roles. His broad individual experience and wide exposure to disclosure processes across many companies within the pharmaceutical industry gives him a unique perspective across the problems, the realities and, most importantly, the solutions.
David is an Academic Advisor to Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) / Research Panel, which evaluates research project outputs for business and CIMA relevance.
